What is steam cleaning?

Steam cleaning is a form of hot-water extraction that uses high pressure steam to sanitize and clean surfaces. It works by heating water to a high temperature, turning it into steam, and then using steam to blast away dirt, grime, and bacteria. The high temperature also helps to kill bacteria, dust mites, mold, and other allergens.

How often should I have my carpets steam cleaned?

We usually recommend you have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12 months. Not only does this keep them looking their best, it also prolongs the life of your carpet. Some carpet manufacturers may even require cleanings this frequently in order to maintain your warranty.

How long does carpet cleaning take?

The more important question is will your carpet cleaning company take whatever time is necessary to get the job done right? We will! We are dedicated to providing the highest level of service and customer care. We will work until your carpets are clean no matter how long it takes! For example cleaning a house with three bedrooms, a living room, hallway and set of stairs takes about an hour on average. 

How long will it take for my carpets to dry?

Most carpets will dry within 6 to 12 hours. However, it can take anywhere from 6 to 24 hours for carpets to dry, depending on factors such as airflow and humidity. Here are some things to keep in mind about the drying process: You can walk on your carpet as it dries, but keep it to a minimum and wear clean shoes, socks or go bare feet. You can significantly reduce drying time by turning on ceiling fans, cranking the A.C up or opening windows to increase airflow.

Do you move furniture?

​Our regular pricing includes moving chairs, small tables and smaller items. Tv stands, sectional sofas, beds,
dressers, and heavier pieces are usually left in place and cleaned around or should be moved by you before we arrive for the job. Every job is different when it comes to furniture moving and I'll do my best to be accommodating.

Are your cleaning solutions safe?

We only use EPA approved cleaning solutions that are safe for your family and pets. We guarantee that they are also completely safe on your most sensitive and delicate carpets and rugs.

What kind of equipment do you use?
At Josh's Carpet & Upholstery cleaning we use a top of the line powerful gas powered truck mount steam cleaning machine. We also have smaller portable cleaning machines that allows us to get into areas that our truck mount machine can't reach.

 

What types of payment do you except?

We except cash, checks and credit cards including Mastercard and Visa. Unfortunately we do not currently except any cash app payments.

 

The tag on my upholstered furniture says dry clean only can you still steam clean it?

Yes! In most situations upholstered furniture with dry clean only tags can still be steam cleaned by a professional. Truthfully those tags are usually put there to take away all legal responsibility from the furniture supplier and it does not necessarily mean it's the best way to clean your upholstery. Letting a professional determine the best cleaning method is always best.

 

Should I vacuum before you arrive?

Pre vacuuming is always helpful and a good idea prier to steam cleaning but not always necessary. Our truckmount steam cleaning machines are powerful and can usually remove dirt and debris even without pre vacuuming. If you have pets and lots of pet hair it's best to pre vacuum before steam cleaning of the carpets.

 

Can I put my furniture back with the carpets still wet?

Furniture can be put back to its original spot after cleaning even if the carpets are still wet but furniture protectors are usually required. When not protected upholstered furniture with metal bottoms can potentially leave rust spots. Also stained wood furniture can potentially leave permanent stains. It's best to leave furniture off of wet carpets until they are dry but I'll try to be as accommodating as possible with situations where help is needed.

 

Do I need to do anything before you arrive? What preparations should I do before the cleaning service?

Before arrival it's always helpful to remove as much from the carpeted floors as you can including removing small furniture such as coffee tables, side tables and anything easily removed. Every job is different and at some jobs furniture is left it place and cleaned around while other customers would rather have it removed. Pre vacuuming can also be helpful before arrival. Putting your pets away before we inter the house is for everyone's safety even if you have the nicest cattiest pets ever!​​​
